Having spent many years in internal recruitment teams, Becks moved to Consortia in 2017 to become Head of Talent. In a short time she has; shortened the working hours, brought in more trips to the pub, more competitions and faster promotions across the board! Whats not to like!

Describe an average day at Consortia

Coming into work everyday at Consortia is no average work day. It’s like coming into work with your friends and family. We work hard but we have a lot of fun whilst doing so.

What is it about recruitment that you enjoy the most?

I fell into recruitment about 6 years ago, straight out of Uni. I honestly couldn’t think of a better industry that would suit my personality. I love the fast paced, high earning potential, social environment and opportunities to progress your career like no other!

What is the best thing about working at Consortia?

The People! People not only make up the talent, but also the culture within a business. Here at Consortia we have the best of both. It’s a pleasure to work alongside some of the most talented Recruiters in the industry, but to also work with likeminded people who share the same interests both inside and outside of work. The team we have is one of the most collaborative teams I’ve ever worked in. Everyone wants you to succeed and will help you do so.

What is the most interesting part of your job?

Hiring the next generation of talent and training them up to become the best recruiters in their market. I love seeing the company grow from month to month, and also that moment when a new Consultants make their first placement.

What are the challenges of your job?

Like all jobs, as great as my job is, it has it’s challenges. This is finding the quality of top Graduate’s and Trainees who are Driven to succeed, competitive, committed and like minded.

How does this role differ from ones you’ve had in the past?

I’ve previously worked for other Recruitment companies prior to joining Consortia, and Consortia has by far exceeded my expectations. There are lots of Recruitment Companies in the industry who offer good basic salaries, commission and incentives etc! But it’s just as important to consider the culture, working environment and the way you’re treated, which ultimately make up your working day and affect your happiness. Consortia has honestly found the best balance. Not only do we have one of the best commission structures and progression schemes in Bristol, we are also looked after exceptionally well. We get a good work life balance (which is hard to find in some recruitment company’s) and all have an input into the way the business is ran. Nathan is one of the best MD’s I’ve worked for. He isn’t one of those MD’s who locks himself away in his office. He’s always out on the sales floor integrating with the Consultants – whether that’s helping with training or asking where we want to have our next Christmas party! Everyone has a say and your feedback and ideas on what Consortia can be doing better are always welcomed.

What is your proudest achievement so far?

Assisting Nathan with our Fast Track programme and hiring 5 new members of the team within 3 months! This is just the start of a fantastic career here at Consortia, and I look forward to what the future has to hold for us.
